NUTRIENTS

There are essential nutrients that our body requires and they are carbohydrates (carbs), fat, vitamins, proteins, minerals and water.

The three that I am going to talk to you about are Fats, Proteins and Carbohydrates which are essential for normal body function and energy.

FATS

These nutrients contain carbon, hydrogen, some oxygen, and sometimes other chemical elements.

Purpose: Source of energy, most concentrated, insulator to preserve body heat, supply essential fatty acids, carry fat-soluble vitamins A,D,E,K.

Classified into 3 main groups: SIMPLE=fatty acids are mono (1), di (2) and tri (3) and they are saturated and unsaturated fatty acids.

Saturated are foods high in meat, animal fat, lard, whole milk, cream, butter, cheese, ice cream, hydrogenated oils (plastic), coconut oil, palm oil, and others that do not melt at room temperature; these fats raise blood cholesterol levels.

Unsaturated are monounsaturated fatty acids that are double bond and are olive, corn, cottonseed, safflower, walnut, sunflower and soybean oils that liquefy at room temperature. These oils are also known for lowering blood cholesterol. "When unsaturated fats replace saturated fats in the diet, the former tend to stimulate the liver to clear cholesterol from the blood." (p.51, Hoeger)

Other Fatty Acids: Hydrogen added to increase shelf-life, solidify and increase of atoms changes the position transforming fat which = trans fatty acids in such foods as margarine, spreads, crackers, cookies, diary products, meats, fast foods and these fats elevate cholesterol.

Omega-3 also known as alpha-linoleic acid and is a polyunsaturated fatty acid good for heart health and food sources are flax seed (high in fiber), and legumes which helps to reduce heart rhythms and prevent blot clots. Lesser amounts found in walnuts, soybeans, wheat germ. Use not recommended for lactating or pregnant women.

Omega-6 is an unsaturated fatty acid and food sources are corn, sunflower, and most oils in processed foods. If used to excess it can amplify inflammatory processes that can damage organs in the body.

Learn to read labels before you purchase your product; just because the label states "partially hydrogenated" and "trans-fatty acids" they can still carry a health risk just as high as that of saturated fats!

WHAT SHALL ONE EAT?

"When God led the children of Israel out of Egypt, it was His purpose to establish them in the land of Canaan a pure, happy, healthy people.....It was His purpose to supply them with food better suited to their wants than the feverish diet to which many of them had been accustomed in Egypt. The perverted appetite was to be brought into a more healthy state, that they might enjoy the food originally provided for man, ---the fruits of the earth, which GOD gave to Adam and Eve in Eden.
Had they been willing to deny appetite in obedience to His restrictions, feebleness and disease would have been unknown among them.....
GOD let them have flesh, but it proved a curse to them." (White, Counsels on Diet & Foods, 1938, p. 378)

HOW DO VIRUSES WORK?

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK21523/

A virus is a small parasite that cannot reproduce by itself. Once it infects a susceptible cell, however, a can direct the cell machinery to produce more viruses. Most viruses have either or as their genetic material. The may be single- or double-stranded. The entire infectious virus particle, called a virion, consists of the nucleic acid and an outer shell of . The simplest viruses contain only enough RNA or DNA to encode four proteins. The most complex can encode 100 – 200 proteins.

So, how is this current COVID19 transmitted and how has it been able to stay alive and who is it infecting? Look at Dr. Gregor's comments on this corona virus at NutritionFacts.org and draw your own conclusions.

"Vegetables, fruits, and grains should compose our diet. Not an ounce of flesh meat should enter our stomachs. The eating of flesh is unnatural. We are to return to GOD's original purpose in the creation of man......Among those who are waiting for the coming of the LORD, meat eating will eventually be done away; flesh will cease to form a part of their diet." ( ibid, White, p. 380-1)

Breakfast Like a King, Lunch Like a Prince, Dinner Like a Pauper

Breakfast Like a King, Lunch Like a Prince, Dinner Like a Pauper

Yesterday Dr Gregor with NutritionFacts.org provide a fascinating information on the COVID 19 virus! I am sure youTube presentations will be available for other viewers to see. He is also coming out with another book called "HOW TO SURVIVE A PANDEMIC" look for it readers and those interesting in changing their lifestyles to live more healthier!

Also take note of the 8 *Laws of Health* that are taught at Weimar in California!
N--Nutrition
E--Exercise
W--Water
S--Sunshine
T--Temperance(Moderation)
A--Air (fresh)
R--Rest(mental/physical)
T--Trusting in God

Also en-light of this COVID19 and the information that has been provided by us that animals are/were a major cause of the spread of this virus from China it led me to pull off my bookshelf a book by Agatha Thrash and her husband Calvin Thrash who were both Medical Doctors and were founders of Uchee Pines Institute in Seale, Alabama.
Here is what Dr Agatha Thrash has to say in her book: 'The Animal Connection'----------
It is suggested by Dr. James H. Steel, writing in Laboratory Medicine, in December, 1970
that "lower animals can serve as a source of virus strains that may cause sporadic human disease, or possible epidemics or pandemics (world-wide epidemics)"

"Foods used by humans come from either plants or animals. It is more likely that animal viruses are active in causing human disease than plant viruses, since plants are so biologically different from animals and humans. While plants have diseases, some of which are bacterial, some fungal, and some viral, the possibility appears quite remote that plant viruses are involved in human disease.
We do not yet know the cause of many human diseases such as arthritis, collagen disease, the wasting muscle diseases. many of the chronic and disabling intestinal diseases....many of the crippling neurological diseases,....It is not a far-fetched idea that many of these diseases of unknown cause are related to animal diseases transmitted to man either by direct contact with the animal or by ingestion of the flesh, milk, or eggs of the infected animal.
Cooking does not insure that bacteria are killed. Viruses are far more resistant to destruction by heat than are bacteria." (Thrash, 1983, p.2)

Dear Folks,

With this current pandemic along with the pandemonium deep consideration should be given to a lifestyle change that is without eating meat and meat products!!
Others that have taken that step are: Dr McDougall, founder of the McDougall Program; Dr. Esselstyn, Heart Specialist; Dr. Klaper, promotes Nutrition Interest Groups; Dr. Gregor, founder of NutritionFacts.org and countless other health professions and everyday people who have changed their lifestyles. Look them UP!

Have a healthy DAY!!!

THE CASE OF SHINGLES

What is Shingles?

An acute and painful inflammatory virus disease, affecting the skin overlying one or more sensory nerve trunks, also the nerve trunks themselves, and characterized by groups of small blisters on inflamed bases.

The skin eruption breaks out in crops,...The groups of blisters, each with a red base, dry and form crusts after a week of two....The blisters sometimes become pustules....The pain, neuralgic in character, may develop before the blisters appear;.....

Nerves on both sides of the body, or more than one nerve on the same side, may be affected, with corresponding widespread eruption. Occasionally nerves that supply the skin of the neck, the arms, the abdomen, or the thighs are attacked......Shingles is usually less severe in young persons than in those who are older.

What causes this development of the disease?

Overwork, general debility, damp and chilly weather, or the absorption of certain drugs....but a specific cause of the disease is a virus which affects the nerves and skin.
The New Modern Medical Counselor, by Hubert O. Swartout, MD, DNB, DrPH
[page 468] @1951

What should you do if you have Shingles?
  1. In severe cases, complete rest
  2. If constipated take a laxative
  3. Eat a simple easily digested diet
  4. Drink an abundance of fluids
  5. A heating pad or heat/light lamp to the painful area and will relieve some of the distress of Shingles
  6. Apply 1% phenol (used to disinfect skin/relieve itching) in Calamine lotion to help dry the blisters
  7. Daub a cotton ball of White Willow or Apple Cider Vinegar for pain
  8. For itching you can also use Aloe Vera, Lemon juice and Eucalyptus oil
  9. Positive for Shingles take 3 x day 10 mg of vitamin B1 (also known as Thiamine)
  10. If your pain has become very severe with no relief from Home remedies consult a physician
The New Modern Medical Counselor, by Hubert O. Swartout,MD, DNB, DrPh [page 467]
The How To Herb Book, by Velma J. Keith & Monteen Gordon [page 226] @1984

What about drugs from Conventional Medicine?
  1. VALTREX (Valacyclovir, generic name): Antiviral drug to slow growth and spread of the virus --- Side effects: discouragement, sad feeling, lack of appetite, loss of pleasure, tiredness, troubled sleep and concentration--may not apply to Valtrex
  2. ACYCLOVIR: No cure for symptoms of lesions, but used to treat infections --- Side effects: pain, swellings, redness, abdomen pain, decrease in frequency of urination and thirst, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, tiredness, and weakness.
Antibiotics (for influenza and virus)
      3. RELENZA (Zanamivir, generic name): Treatment for influenza A/B used as a preventive --- Side effects: convulsions, joint pain, skin rash, dizziness, fainting, increase sensitive to sunlight, itching/red swell eyes, short of breath and slow heartbeat
     4. TAMIFLU (Oseltamivir-phosphate, generic name): Antiviral medication-blocks actions of influenza virus A/B --- Side effects: abdominal cramps, arm/back/saw pain, increase thirst, weight loss, chest pain, facial swelling, fast heartbeat, hoarseness, pain and short of breath
     5. RAPIVAB (Peramivir): Prevents an enzyme in the body from releasing virus from infected cells. Used to treat influenza in adults who have flu symptoms --- Side effects: blistering skin, chills, cough, diarrhea, fever, itching, joint pain, red eyes, and sore throat

An important key to staying healthy ---- IMMUNITY

"Our Immune System is the body's legacy......
It is a multi-part, many-tiered, incredibly sophisticated system by which our bodies are able to naturally resist disease and infection---to fight off the invading bacteria, in our potentially hostile environment" page 3

Hello Readers:

Anyone out there going to have Gallbladder Surgery known as Cholecystectomy?

Had you thought about alternative ways to rid your body of the gall stones? Probably not since most people wait until the pain is so severe they would prefer to have the surgery, right?

Check this link to find out when the first Cholecystectomy was performed and note that there was not one doctor that considered the cause of the build up of stones in the Gallbladder!

http://www.bioline.org.br/request?is04023

Think of these preventive hints if you choose not to have surgery:
1. Dietary habits eating highly spicy, fried and fat foods-not good
2. Not drinking enough water
3. Not eliminating your bowels daily
4. A willingness to take charge of your own health
5. How about a healthy diet of whole foods!

Here are some  things one can do if you discover you have gall stones:
1. Drink lemon water to alkalize your system
2. Eliminate your bowels
3. Drink Apple cider vinegar daily for at least 14 days or more considering the severity of your condition
4. Liver/Gallbladder Flush(7-day program): Day 1-6, Eat 4-6 apples or drink 4-5 glasses of organic unfiltered Apple juice all day and at night 1 hour before bed mix: 2 tbsp olive oil(cold pressed)+ lemon juice or grapefruit in 8 oz of distilled water and lie down on your right side for 6 days.
On the 7th day: Give yourself an enema and Repeat the first day instructions--1 hour before bed take 2/3 cup of olive oil, 1/3 cup of lemon juice in 8 oz of distilled water, sip slowly and lie down on your right side again.
In the morning you must take a chlorophyll enema because you must completely empty your colon or you will experience cramping, nausea or heartburn and headache; this is due to the flushing of toxins from the gallbladder into the intestines/blood.
If your Liver/gallbladder is strongly congested you may consider taking herbs to stimulate removal of the toxins.

An Example of Health

"Jesus Himself was free from physical deformity. He was the “lamb without blemish and without spot.” 1 Peter 1:19. His physical structure was not marred by any defect; His body was strong and healthy. And throughout His lifetime He lived in conformity to nature’s laws. Physically as well as spiritually, He was an example of what God designed all humanity to be through obedience to His laws. "–  DA 50.3 (Desire of Ages, (c)1987, E.G.W.)

"The Doctor of the Future will give no medicine, but will interest his patients in the care of the human frames, in diet, and in the cause and prevention of disease." ----               Thomas Edison

Structure and Functions of the Human Body

It costs more to be sick than to stay well. It is easier to keep well than to get well when sick. There are no incurable diseases according to Doctor Shultze's, but there are many that do not recover from their diseases and that we have to leave to God's will. The surest way to meet disease is by prevention, and most diseases are preventable. No disease comes without a cause. Sickness is not directly the work of an unseen power, good or evil; its course, or history, has a definite line reaching from cause to effect. We can often trace the cause directly to some violation of the laws of health. The recovery from any illness first of all demands the removal of its cause. The things one must do to recover health are the same that would keep one well had he/she always observed them. So what are some Natural Remedies we can use to strengthen, restore and sustain our human bodies in good health?

AIR

The first essential of life. You can live weeks without food, days without water, but only a very few minutes without air.

All outdoors is filled with air, and it is the function of the lungs to breathe in that air. Oxygen is a purifying element taken in by the blood as it passes through the lungs. Carbon dioxide is given off in exchange and if the oxygen is not supplied, the blood must retain its impurities; and those impurities circulate to every part of the body causing the whole system to suffer. Many diseases are the result of breathing impure air.
What are some conditions that deprive us of the benefits of pure air? Closed windows create poor ventilation, tight clothing that compresses the lungs, poor posture that cramps the lungs, shallow breathing, poisonous gases, cigarette smoke, overheated rooms and air filled with disease germs or poisons.
Breathing impure air weakens the body, so that it becomes more susceptible to disease. Pneumonia is often called a [bad air] disease. Other germ diseases which bad air is a contributing factor are bronchitis, influenza, tuberculosis, colds, cough, sore throat, etc. Offices, class rooms, bedrooms, and hospital rooms should have a current of fresh air pass through it day and night. But today most of our work places, class rooms, bedrooms and even our hospital rooms (where they should know better) are supplied by artificial air. Fresh air is one of nature's best medicines and fresh air that will help to cure disease will help to prevent it.  (Thoughts from "Health Preservation & Home Nursing", Review & Herald Publishing Assoc. 1936)
Health Facts: The right lung has three separate compartments,  while the left lung has only two. The average person takes 21,600 breaths per day, using about 88 pounds of oxygen. Our brain uses 25 percent of all the oxygen we take in.
What can you do to breath better? You can expand the lungs by lowering the diaphragm muscle when you relax the abdominal muscles during inhalation. As you expand your upper lung area and your lower lung area it results in increased lung function called 'deep breathing' which provides more efficient oxygen/carbon dioxide exchange. Deep breathing can help relieve headaches, backaches, stomachaches, sleeplessness and prevent certain types of pneumonia. Deep breathing allows blood pressure to return to normal and releases natural mood enhancers (endorphins) into the bloodstream. (Amazing Health Facts! magazine free for the asking)

So breath, breath, exhale and inhale deeply to fill those lungs with good Fresh Air!

Are You Nutritiously Deprived?

Man is the crowning act of God's creation. We were formed from the dust of the ground, and  "the Lord God formed man .... and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul."

As we study the body we are studying God's crowning work; and because of disease we have marred this wonderful machinery. Even science has attempted to pierce the secrets of life and has tried to explain its functions by the laws of physics and chemistry; but the discoveries are still vastly unknown. Only the eye of faith can pierce this unknown by God's creative power and life.
I will begin a series of blogs on the structure and functions of the human body and present information on how are are to regard this wonderful mechanism created by God.

Some recipes provided by Kurt King in his book "Herbs to the Rescue"

It seems that FLU season is upon us. Other than taking a FLU shot each year what preventive steps are you taking to not get the FLU? I live in the state of Wyoming in the city of Cheyenne and although the article below talks of the FLU epidemic across the US and can only be concern about the state that I live in. Please note what it says for those of you Wyoming viewers to my blog. "AP/ January 13, 2013, 3:24 PM Snapshot of flu epidemic across the U.S. map United States, U.S., health, caduceus Wyoming: Flu activity is high in Wyoming. One county ran out of vaccine last week and the distributor won't have any more flu vaccine this season. Supplies are available from many doctors' offices and other providers, and thousands of people have already been vaccinated. There have been no reported deaths. State health officials generally only keep track of children's flu deaths. Often the cause is pneumonia or related to frailty or other health problems so it is hard to draw conclusions about a flu season from state reports." There have been a few people in my workplace that have been sick with the FLU this past holiday and even one person, an adult, has even suffered from pneumonia. Again, I ask what preventive steps are you taking so you don't get sick with a common cold, the FLU or even something worse like pneumonia? I'd like to start with Dr. Schulze's October 2012 newsletter titled, "COLD & FLU ALERT--IT'S COMING" and he recommends his product called "Super Tonic" of which I have tried and does boost the immune system and the other is called "Cold&FLu-Herbal Shot". Hope Dr. Schulze doesn't mind my using his pic.
Also other products called "Grapefruit w/Echinacea", Vitamin C, Cayenne(dilates the circulation) numerous teas such as "De-tox". These products are reasonably priced and most can be found in any Health Food store and what you can't find in the stores can be ordered offline from such sites as 'Nature Sunshine'; 'Now'; 'Azure Standard'; 'Mountain Peoples'and 'Natures Plus' Don't wait until you are sick before you do anything about your health; start now by eating whole foods, drinking plenty of water, exercise, leave off sweets, letting sunlight into our homes and walking out doors when it is sunny, fresh air, rest and Trust in Divine power to get us through another day. Keep these simple tips in mind while we continue to weather the storm of this years FLU season and stay HEALTHY.

ARTHRITIS

This is a result of inorganic calcium deposits in the cartilage of the joints as a result of eating concentrated carbohydrates in excess. Dissolving the inorganic calcium is a beginning step to regenerate your system. "RESENTMENT" is what needs to be banish from the heart in order to improve one's calcium situation.(N.W.Walker 124) Harboring resentful thoughts is also found in Proverbs 14:30 "A sound heart is the life of the flesh: but envy the rottenness of the bones." So, the calcium must be removed from the body and juicing is one way to do this.
Juices are listed in accordance with their greatest efficacy and are taken from the book RAW VEGETABLE JUICES, Dr. N.W. Walker.
1. Grapefruit - pint
2. Carrot & Spinach - 10oz & 6oz
3. Straight Celery - pint
4. Carrot & Celery - 9oz & 7oz (if celery tops used, 10oz & 6oz)
5. Carrot & Beet & Cucumber 10oz & 3oz & 3oz
Please note you are to drink a pint of each single or combination of juices throughout the day at one or two hour intervals.
It is highly recommended that once you start a certain combination of juicing to combat a particular problem do not switch the juices around, because it will effect the chemical combinations and end in different results. Stay with the suggested combinations. I will have more to say about Juicing Combinations at a later date. Please remember that it is your choice to try alternative methods to treat yourself and that is your God given right. The greatest thing you can do for yourself in order to feel better and be healthier is to change your lifestyle. Treating an illness is one thing, but prevention goes a long way and has far reaching results.

I post this blog, because a few people have asked me about alternative methods to use for Arthritis.

HEALTHY LIVING

Holiday Season
With Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays upon us the Internet, magazine racks at the stores, food producers and various other advertisers are filling us with ideas on what to cook for the holidays. I was looking at some vegetarian recipes just this morning on the Internet about how to make soups and pastries, but the sad part about some of those ingredients; they still used sugar and salt. How can you enjoy your festive holiday this season, still not overindulge, and eat something that is healthy? Here are a few tips to consider.

Read Ingredients
If you have not been, accustom to reading what is in the food you buy, now is the time to begin reading ingredients on packages you buy. You will be surprised what is contained in the fine print. For example, most people will just look at the main label or heading of a food package and think, oh, this is okay to eat!; until they get home and find out that there is one item in the food package that is not healthy at all. Yes, I have been guilty of the same and usually I have just thrown the food out. Read the ingredients after reading the label and you will be glad that you did.

Eat Smart
A healthy diet combined with daily exercise makes it easy to lose that 5%. Remember, a healthy diet includes lots of fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, plant-based protein, nuts, and legumes with all foods being whole foods and non-processed. Remember that eating meat substitutes and non-dairy cheeses and sorts can be just as pricey to eat; so use in moderation. Become a smart thinker and you will be a smart eater!

FOOD FOR THOUGHT

Changes in our Health Care is fast closing in on the American people. Will everyone be able to afford Health Care? If anyone has taken the time to read the new Health Care proposal, I am not sure if anyone could really understand it all. I vaguely skimmed through the 1100+ pages and was not sure what was being offered me, except that if I do not have 'prescribed Health Care', I will be taxed in order to help pay for others that cannot afford Health care. What kind of Health Plan is that? I thought this was America, and their was such a thing as freedom of choice?
Anyway, I have chosen not to have conventional Health Care, because the answer to Health Care is not in treatment; but in PREVENTION. The purpose of this blog is to encourage people to seek alternative methods to Health Care and think seriously on the phrase "physician heal thyself". Everyone needs to educate themselves in the area of Health Reform and gradually work to change their lifestyles in order to reach Optimum Health. This is not a 'rocket scientist' approach, but simply the willingness on the part of each individual to make necessary changes in their lifestyle in order to maintain mental, physical and spiritual health.
All I ask, is that you THINK ABOUT IT!

This report is alarming!

Health
Outbreak of rare disease in the Netherlands
By The World ⋅ March 25, 2010
The Netherlands is grappling with an outbreak of a rare disease. It normally strikes farm animals, but it’s now sickening hundreds of people who have no contact with farms. While most people get something like the flu or pneumonia for a few weeks, some are sick for months, and a handful have died. The disease is caused by a type of bacteria so resilient that the U.S. government considers it a bioterrorism agent. From the Netherlands, Emily Kopp reports. (images courtesy of VJ Movement)
________________________________________
Truck driver Frank van Lent lives in a small town an hour southeast of Amsterdam. He used to play tennis and jog, but now a short stroll through his neighborhood is all he has energy for. His trouble began ten months ago.

Frank Van Lent and his partner Ans Brouwers
He became exhausted, he says. He developed a fever, headaches, muscle aches, heart palpitations. At first, his doctor was stumped. He prescribed antibiotics, but those didn’t help. Two months went by, but van Lent didn’t get better. He went in for more tests.
They took some blood, he says, and they came up with a diagnosis: Q-fever. It’s a bacterial infection, transmitted by livestock. Jos van de Sande is an infectious disease expert at the public health department here in the Dutch province of Brabant. He says, usually, only people who work with farm animals are at risk.
“It’s always been an occupational disease of farmers, slaughterhouse personnel, veterinarians.”
But something has changed. Now, many people here who have no connection to farms are coming down with Q-fever, and the number of patients is growing. Three years ago, the Netherlands had fewer than 200 cases. Last year, it had more than 2000. At least nine people have died. It’s not clear why the disease is spreading. Jos van de Sande says the bacteria may have mutated.
”And now Q fever is spread by the wind and the whole population can get it.”
Whatever is causing the disease to spread, officials believe they know where it’s coming from – this country’s growing number of goat farms.
Jeannette van den Ven raises dairy goats on her farm:
“These are the younger stock, and the younger females and males.”
For the goats to make milk, they have to get pregnant. The problem is: the bacteria that cause Q fever thrive in goats’ wombs, and cause goats to miscarry. When the goats abort, the bacteria are released into the air and can infect people. So to stop the disease, the Dutch government has targeted farms, like van den Ven’s.
“They just said pregnant goats give the most risk to contamination. Let’s kill all the pregnant goats, contaminated or not. And that’s, you know, very hard.”
Under government orders, if any goat tests positive for Q fever, all pregnant goats on that farm must be killed. That’s what happened here. The government sent veterinarians to euthanize more than 600 of Van den Ven’s goats. Nationwide, about 45,000 pregnant goats have been killed.

Farmers call these measures draconian and unnecessary. There is an animal vaccine for Q-fever. It was in short supply last year but now there’s now enough for all the goats in the country. It’s not clear, though, if any of these measures will stop the spread of Q fever. Jos Van de Sande of the Brabant public health department says there are simply too many farms squeezed into this crowded country.
He pulls up a map on his computer. It’s dotted with fat pink circles, clumped together like chicken pox. They indicate infected farms.
“You see, Not only humans, but other stables nearby can become infected very easily. The stables are so close together in the Netherlands that the disease can very likely spread from stable to stable.”
One way to protect people from Q fever would be to move farms away from cities, but experts say that’s not practical. Meanwhile, other European countries are watching the situation closely. Recently, the disease spread to a few Belgian farms across the border.
