An Example of Health

"Jesus Himself was free from physical deformity. He was the “lamb without blemish and without spot.” 1 Peter 1:19. His physical structure was not marred by any defect; His body was strong and healthy. And throughout His lifetime He lived in conformity to nature’s laws. Physically as well as spiritually, He was an example of what God designed all humanity to be through obedience to His laws. "–  DA 50.3 (Desire of Ages, (c)1987, E.G.W.)

"The Doctor of the Future will give no medicine, but will interest his patients in the care of the human frames, in diet, and in the cause and prevention of disease." ----               Thomas Edison

Structure and Functions of the Human Body

It costs more to be sick than to stay well. It is easier to keep well than to get well when sick. There are no incurable diseases according to Doctor Shultze's, but there are many that do not recover from their diseases and that we have to leave to God's will. The surest way to meet disease is by prevention, and most diseases are preventable. No disease comes without a cause. Sickness is not directly the work of an unseen power, good or evil; its course, or history, has a definite line reaching from cause to effect. We can often trace the cause directly to some violation of the laws of health. The recovery from any illness first of all demands the removal of its cause. The things one must do to recover health are the same that would keep one well had he/she always observed them. So what are some Natural Remedies we can use to strengthen, restore and sustain our human bodies in good health?

AIR

The first essential of life. You can live weeks without food, days without water, but only a very few minutes without air.

All outdoors is filled with air, and it is the function of the lungs to breathe in that air. Oxygen is a purifying element taken in by the blood as it passes through the lungs. Carbon dioxide is given off in exchange and if the oxygen is not supplied, the blood must retain its impurities; and those impurities circulate to every part of the body causing the whole system to suffer. Many diseases are the result of breathing impure air.
What are some conditions that deprive us of the benefits of pure air? Closed windows create poor ventilation, tight clothing that compresses the lungs, poor posture that cramps the lungs, shallow breathing, poisonous gases, cigarette smoke, overheated rooms and air filled with disease germs or poisons.
Breathing impure air weakens the body, so that it becomes more susceptible to disease. Pneumonia is often called a [bad air] disease. Other germ diseases which bad air is a contributing factor are bronchitis, influenza, tuberculosis, colds, cough, sore throat, etc. Offices, class rooms, bedrooms, and hospital rooms should have a current of fresh air pass through it day and night. But today most of our work places, class rooms, bedrooms and even our hospital rooms (where they should know better) are supplied by artificial air. Fresh air is one of nature's best medicines and fresh air that will help to cure disease will help to prevent it.  (Thoughts from "Health Preservation & Home Nursing", Review & Herald Publishing Assoc. 1936)
Health Facts: The right lung has three separate compartments,  while the left lung has only two. The average person takes 21,600 breaths per day, using about 88 pounds of oxygen. Our brain uses 25 percent of all the oxygen we take in.
What can you do to breath better? You can expand the lungs by lowering the diaphragm muscle when you relax the abdominal muscles during inhalation. As you expand your upper lung area and your lower lung area it results in increased lung function called 'deep breathing' which provides more efficient oxygen/carbon dioxide exchange. Deep breathing can help relieve headaches, backaches, stomachaches, sleeplessness and prevent certain types of pneumonia. Deep breathing allows blood pressure to return to normal and releases natural mood enhancers (endorphins) into the bloodstream. (Amazing Health Facts! magazine free for the asking)

So breath, breath, exhale and inhale deeply to fill those lungs with good Fresh Air!

Are You Nutritiously Deprived?

Man is the crowning act of God's creation. We were formed from the dust of the ground, and  "the Lord God formed man .... and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul."

As we study the body we are studying God's crowning work; and because of disease we have marred this wonderful machinery. Even science has attempted to pierce the secrets of life and has tried to explain its functions by the laws of physics and chemistry; but the discoveries are still vastly unknown. Only the eye of faith can pierce this unknown by God's creative power and life.
I will begin a series of blogs on the structure and functions of the human body and present information on how are are to regard this wonderful mechanism created by God.

Some recipes provided by Kurt King in his book "Herbs to the Rescue"

It seems that FLU season is upon us. Other than taking a FLU shot each year what preventive steps are you taking to not get the FLU? I live in the state of Wyoming in the city of Cheyenne and although the article below talks of the FLU epidemic across the US and can only be concern about the state that I live in. Please note what it says for those of you Wyoming viewers to my blog. "AP/ January 13, 2013, 3:24 PM Snapshot of flu epidemic across the U.S. map United States, U.S., health, caduceus Wyoming: Flu activity is high in Wyoming. One county ran out of vaccine last week and the distributor won't have any more flu vaccine this season. Supplies are available from many doctors' offices and other providers, and thousands of people have already been vaccinated. There have been no reported deaths. State health officials generally only keep track of children's flu deaths. Often the cause is pneumonia or related to frailty or other health problems so it is hard to draw conclusions about a flu season from state reports." There have been a few people in my workplace that have been sick with the FLU this past holiday and even one person, an adult, has even suffered from pneumonia. Again, I ask what preventive steps are you taking so you don't get sick with a common cold, the FLU or even something worse like pneumonia? I'd like to start with Dr. Schulze's October 2012 newsletter titled, "COLD & FLU ALERT--IT'S COMING" and he recommends his product called "Super Tonic" of which I have tried and does boost the immune system and the other is called "Cold&FLu-Herbal Shot". Hope Dr. Schulze doesn't mind my using his pic.
Also other products called "Grapefruit w/Echinacea", Vitamin C, Cayenne(dilates the circulation) numerous teas such as "De-tox". These products are reasonably priced and most can be found in any Health Food store and what you can't find in the stores can be ordered offline from such sites as 'Nature Sunshine'; 'Now'; 'Azure Standard'; 'Mountain Peoples'and 'Natures Plus' Don't wait until you are sick before you do anything about your health; start now by eating whole foods, drinking plenty of water, exercise, leave off sweets, letting sunlight into our homes and walking out doors when it is sunny, fresh air, rest and Trust in Divine power to get us through another day. Keep these simple tips in mind while we continue to weather the storm of this years FLU season and stay HEALTHY.

ARTHRITIS

This is a result of inorganic calcium deposits in the cartilage of the joints as a result of eating concentrated carbohydrates in excess. Dissolving the inorganic calcium is a beginning step to regenerate your system. "RESENTMENT" is what needs to be banish from the heart in order to improve one's calcium situation.(N.W.Walker 124) Harboring resentful thoughts is also found in Proverbs 14:30 "A sound heart is the life of the flesh: but envy the rottenness of the bones." So, the calcium must be removed from the body and juicing is one way to do this.
Juices are listed in accordance with their greatest efficacy and are taken from the book RAW VEGETABLE JUICES, Dr. N.W. Walker.
1. Grapefruit - pint
2. Carrot & Spinach - 10oz & 6oz
3. Straight Celery - pint
4. Carrot & Celery - 9oz & 7oz (if celery tops used, 10oz & 6oz)
5. Carrot & Beet & Cucumber 10oz & 3oz & 3oz
Please note you are to drink a pint of each single or combination of juices throughout the day at one or two hour intervals.
It is highly recommended that once you start a certain combination of juicing to combat a particular problem do not switch the juices around, because it will effect the chemical combinations and end in different results. Stay with the suggested combinations. I will have more to say about Juicing Combinations at a later date. Please remember that it is your choice to try alternative methods to treat yourself and that is your God given right. The greatest thing you can do for yourself in order to feel better and be healthier is to change your lifestyle. Treating an illness is one thing, but prevention goes a long way and has far reaching results.

I post this blog, because a few people have asked me about alternative methods to use for Arthritis.

Master Gardening

Hello out there (-:

I just wanted to share with everyone about my finally taking a Master Garden class. It has been absolutely wonderful learning all these things about gardening. What to do with trees that are dying or how to improve your lawn and how important honey bees are to our environment. It has been great! The classes started in January and end this March and I am going to miss all of the wonderful people I have met in class and the lectures as well, because our instructor has brought in some very interesting people to share gardening ideas with us.

A wish to all of you happy gardeners out there, have fun with all of your composting, seed planting and the final harvest!!!!!!
